What to do if you are worried about an adult
If you think you or someone you know is being abused or neglected, you should call the telephone hotline on 0300 303 6070.
Safeguarding enquiries or referrals should be emailed enquiry@towerhamletsconnect.org.
Tower Hamlets Connect staff will make sure they get sent straight to the local authority/Initial Assessment Team to action.

If you are concerned that an adult is in imminent danger from abuse or neglect, or that a criminal act has taken place you should contact the police by dialing 999.
What to do if you are worried about a child
If you are concerned that a child or young person is being harmed through abuse or neglect you should contact the children's services advice and assessment team on 020 7364 5601 or 020 7364 5606.

They set out specifically how the Local Authority works with other organisations in the area, such as the police and the ICB to fulfil the requirements of the Care Act, including how they:
- Prevent and protect adults at risk from abuse;
- Empower and support adults to make their own choices;
- Investigate actual (or suspected) abuse or neglect; and
- Support adults who are at risk of, or experiencing abuse or neglect.
